Detroit Rose Society Members'  Garden Honored

Detroit Rose Society members Ron and Jackie Loch were recently honored when their rose garden was selected as one of the best gardens in the City of Warren, Michigan.  The award was presented by the Warren Beautification Commission on September 27, 2006 at a dinner attended by Mark A. Steenbergh, the Mayor of Warren.  This honor was bestowed on the Loch's garden for the year 2006.           Ron and Jackie Loch  have graciously made their garden available for garden walks in the past.  Ron's award winning roses are planted as to create a lovely floral oasis in the city.             Ron  Loch is a longtime member of the Detroit Rose Society.  He has served in many capacities, most recently as publisher of the Rose Lore.  Ron, an ARS Consulting Rosarian  is currently completing his apprenticeship as an ARS Horticulture Judge.  An avid exhibiter and perennial winner at rose shows, Ron adds this award to his collection.
