John Vanderkruk from Hortico, Inc. in Ontario, Canada (pictured at right) gave a presentation on the proper selection, care and planting of roses. The membership of the Detroit Rose Society was also given details on the new  "green" policy being implemented at Hortico.  An overview of roses currently being marketed and developed by the company was included in the program.
